Women For Sobriety & Alcoholics Anonymous: differences in programs, philosophy, and group meetings.
REVIEWS - What Members Have to Say:
Shirley: This booklet tells us the differences in the two programs. It clearly states that each program is a self-help format and has an outline of recovery. The first step being to acknowledge that we have a problem with alcohol or drugs. Jean gives us an outline of the differences and tells us why she believes that women need different support during their recovery and beyond. She then gives us a basic outline of the meeting format. It feels so much better to say, “My name is Shirley, and I am a competent woman.” The importance is focusing on something positive instead of the disease I have. This booklet is also available on CD, recorded by Jean (http://www.wfscatalog.org/WFS-AA-CD-CD114.htm).
