Shirley:  This is a wonderful workbook to have around.  We all have stress in our lives and need help to work through it.  And this is the least expensive stress management course I have seen anywhere.  Margaret tells us what stress is, and then there are worksheets for us to work through to better understand where we are on our stress levels and issues.  She has lots of suggestions on how we can work through our issues from journaling to meditation and time management skills.  It is an invaluable tool for my recovery.  I remember when I picked up this workbook, it was my first ever WFS Conference and was the last one held on the west coast.  I sort of felt funny getting it, which was one of those things I shake my head about now.  I have to remember I was in a different place/frame of mind at that stage.  I would consider this to tie into Statement #4, “Problems bother me only to the degree I permit them to.”  This is about understanding how our problems affect our way of thinking and our way of life.  I started the workbook and put it aside but as some stress issues increased, I picked it up and worked through it.  It made a big difference.  I practiced some of the things suggested and I worked it and it made a big difference in my life and how I looked at things.  Lately I have worked through it again; I found my answers had changed because I have changed.  Some of the issues have changed but the same grounding exercises work just as well now as they did the first time.  I remember at one stage a friend of mine said that she was considering a stress management course and remembered HER copy of “Coping with Stress”; it helped her and saved her many dollars.  And she feels she gained as much insight into her issues of the moment.  So please consider getting your copy; it is a valuable tool for me and I know it can work for you.  It’s like the rest of our journey; we have to do the work to get the benefit.  And don’t forget to practice the relaxing techniques set out in the workbook, they work wonders.
